Urban Dictionary seem to have problems with sending out emails.

I tried to submit a definition for "banh bao" a vietnamese name for steamed porked buns.
And I didn't get an email from urban dictionary.
I thought maybe i entered my email wrong and tried 2 more times already.
And still no email from urban dictionary yet.
Hopefully they have it sorted out soon so i can resubmit definition for "banh bao" because they have "banh mi" on there.  And I love them both "banh mi" and "banh bao".

Running a facebook ad campaign

facebook ad campaign details
After creating an ad on facebook it automatically goes to "pending review" status.
It took about an hour for the ad to be approved and goes to "scheduled" status.
then when the right time came, it went active.

I only had 5 dollars in my paypal account and i planned to pay facebook with paypal so I set the ad up to have a Lifetime budget of $5.00.
Facebook tries to divide that up into 5 days (roughly 1 dollar a day)
so after showing the ad to 1,171 times, as you can see in the details above it costs me $2.23. So it's about $1.90 per 1000 shown.
That's not too bad.
I wished I had some clicks though. Even after over 1000 shown, i got no clicks. So, so sad.
By the way, the ad was for
I thought maybe if i could get people to visit that blog, they might want to submit definitions and help the blog grows.  I read that there about 2000 definitions submitted to urban dictionary every day and many are rejected so i was hoping that all those rejected would try to submit to but there seems to be no interest at this time. oh well.
For the budget, if you have a bigger budget you can set the amount of dollars per day (instead of lifetime budget) and facebook would probably show the ads to way more people.
The "potential reach" above is only 54 million people because i chose Canada and the United States only and ages from 13 to 25. If you choose more countries or expand the age range i'd imagine you'd reach more people if you can afford to run a high budget.
I think because my budget is so low, that's why facebook only chose to show it just over 1000 times in just a little over 2 days.
These are good numbers to know, if i ever want to place another ad in the future.
I'd imagine facebook makes a lot of money showing ads.  But i wonder what their average click rate is since i have no clicks, i can't really tell other than that my click rate is zero(0).
I probably have a better click rate here on this blog with on the right hand side since i'd imagine on facebook, people are probably so used to ignoring ads on their right hand side, the ad has to really stand out to grab your attention.  I clicked on a couple of ads on facebook out of curiosity but never actually ended up making any kind of purchase becase of facebook ads... yet.
I have about 3 days left and $2.77 left on my budget. Hopefully we'll see some clicks then but i highly doubt it :(
Now that i look at the "potential reach" number it doesn't make much sense to me since that's a huge number and in order to show an ad one time to each of those "potential reach" people I'd have to spend about $102,835.18 and that's way way too much money in advertising.  I wonder how much some of these bigger companies spend on facebook ads, you gotta wonder. If they want to target ages 13 to 25 in Canada and United States like me they'd spend roughly let's round it to $100,000. Wow. Facebook makes good money in ads.

Thoughts about Faith

When it comes to faith, i believe in Jesus Christ and the Buddha.
You might be Athiest and call it blind faith.
But I don't have any better choices.  Just like if you're sick you go see a doctor who's knowledge is vast when it comes to the human body and how to cure your sickness.
Or if you want to know about chemistry, it makes sense to seek knowledge from a chemist.
So since Jesus Christ and the Buddha dedicated their whole lives to seek answers of faith, I trust in them because they must be experts in their field.

Urban Dictionary is overly defined on Urban Dictionary

If you search for "urban dictionary" on you'll get 78 pages of results (over 500 definitions). I think it's a little overly defined. I don't know why they don't have limit on number of definitions for each term.  Other than the first couple of pages, and maybe the last page (for those that are curious) who's gonna read the rest of them.  So even though has over 7 million definitions, I think they actually have much less because of these overly defined terms. Personally, I am only interested in the first page.
What are  your views? Would you for example read page 10, or page 15 for definitions? Please leave comment!
By the way, if you ever submitted a word definition and got rejected by urban dictionary, you can submit it and have it posted on Unurban Dictionary (where urban dictionary rejected words are published)
I have been reading many pages about "urban dictionary" (after searching on google). And many of them say the same thing about urban dictionary.  All you need to know is that a) some slang definitions on Urban Dictionary are used by courts and b) After Watson (the IBM super artificial intelligent computer) learned Urban Dictionary, it used the word "bullshit" which i thought was funny. IBM tries to put a filter on it so it wouldn't use swear words which i think is kind'a cool since as people, we know swears to but choose not to use it.  Maybe this Watson computer is becoming just a little too smart, Maybe IBM might have to turn it off before it tries to take over the world one day.

How to advertise your site for free

There are many ways to do it.
But one of them is by submitting a word definition, then in the email, for the submitted by field instead of your having your name or a nickname, put your link there.
This depends on how creative you are at your word definition.
As this unurban dictionary blog site grows, if your word definition is popular (maybe because it's really funny) you'll get people to visit your site as they view your word definition.
You can also submit as many words as you like.

Cool rotating globe stats

You can find your own globe for you site/blog at

Don't track your own pageviews just doesn't work.

"Don't track your own pageviews" doesn't work on blogger.
Don't track your own pageviews on blogger

I have checked the "Don't track my pageviews"
Don't track my page views on blogger

I even tried to remove all cookies, and then checked the "Don't track my pageviews", Saved it.
Then confirmed that a cookie is indeed added but when i go and refresh my page views on my blog a couple of times, it still counted my page views. Very frustrating. If you know a solution, please leave comment.

The 5 most popular browsers graphed in Google Trends

Below is a graph that shows people's interest in the 5 most popular browsers.

What is a "youtube easter egg" video?

Let's define what a "youtube easter egg" video is.
  • it has to be an unlisted video (that way it doesn't show up on youtube searches, and isn't listed)
  • it has a link to it from a description of another video in which you have to click on "Show More" in order to see the link (makes it less obvious and somewhat hidden from users that do not tend to click on "Show More" on the description).
youtube "Show more" button

the link is seen after "Show more" is clicked
Now let's see an example of a "youtube easter egg" video.
Click on this youtube video,
Then click on "Show More", and you'll see a link to a "youtube easter egg" video.  Notice that this video is unlisted (notice the opened padlock icon next to the name of the video, that means it's unlisted, you can hover your mouse over the padlock and see that it'll say: "This video is unlisted. Only those with the link can see it.").
Unlisted video indicator looks like padlock

Congratulations, you have found your first "youtube easter egg" video.

Why my word was rejected on urban dictionary

Have you ever submitted a word definition to urban dictionary only to have your word rejected by urban dictionary editors?

No worries.

Now, there's a place for all those rejected words and other words that you think might not make it on urban dictionary.

youtube video description goes away after the video finishes playing

This is so annoying, you're reading the description of the video on youtube and then the video finishes and it automatically switches to "Share" tab. To see the description again, you have to click on the "About" tab. I didn't know how to see the description again and clicking on the "About" tab doesn't really stand out as there are so many icons on the "Share" tab, so distracting.

Some popular TV Shows compared on Google Trends

Top 100 Paying Keywords graphed in Google Trends

out of this 100 Top Paying Keywords which word is the most searched for? We'll determine this by graphing them all in Google Trends by groups of 5. Then from each graph, we pick the keywords with the highest average and graph them again below in groups of 5. The keywords with the highest average among their groups of 5 are:
online casino
casino slot
casino gambling

nutri system
online gambling
buy tramadol
cheap insurance car

vegas slot
buy viagra

online casino bonus
viagra cialis

roulette game

Now we graph these keywords into groups of 5.

From the above graphs, we'll pick the keywords with the highest average from each graph and graph them again to find out the most popular keyword.
From the above graph, and based on the Top 100 Paying Keywords mentioned on site shown above we can conclude that "casino" is the most searched term of them all.

People's interest in porn have been rising since 2004

as the graph below shows people's interest in "Porn" have been lower than "Love" and "Sex" in 2004, but has been rising and is now surpassed "Love" and "Sex" in 2013.

Sex sells because people are more interested in it than food, jobs, vacation and travel combined!

Based on Google Trends, people are more interested in sex than food, jobs, vacation and travel combined as the graph below shows

People's interest in popular religions of the world

Here's a graph of Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Sikhism

and here's a graph of Judaism, Bahaism, Jainism, Shintoism and Juche

and here's a graph of Islam and Judaism

Popularity of Facebook, Youtube, Google, Twitter

Here's a graph that charts popularity of Facebook, Youtube, Google, and Twitter (in that order of popularity).

Google might not be as popular maybe because people who already are on Google are doing searches wouldn't search for "Google" anymore.

Popularity of the XBox, Wii, PlayStation

in that order, The Xbox is most popular then the Wii, then the PlayStation as the graph below shows

All systems spike around Christmas time (December) maybe because that's when most purchases are done for Christmas presents.

Twerking on MTV makes you very popular

As the graph below shows, Jesus is more popular than Miley Cyrus.  That is until Miley twerked on MTV.  Now Miley Cyrus is more popular.

Chuck Norris is the most popular of them all

According to Google Trends, Chuck Norris is very popular.  Even more popular than Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Lee, and Audrey Hepburn. (see graph below).

Surprisingly, even though Chuck Norris is not as popular as Jesus, he is however more popular than Buddha or Allah as graph below shows.

More people are interested in Canada than the USA and China combined

I don't know why that is but as Google Trends shows below Canada's average is higher than the USA's average and China's average combined

Top 5 most popular fast food restaurants in America

as Google Trends sees it in the graph below (hover your mouse over graph to see actual numbers).

How much is a site worth and how much does a site make daily?

While looking at stats on my page, i noticed a site called, this site is kind'a cool.
You can type in a url and the site will tell you how much it's worth in US Dollars and how much it makes daily.
for example: I typed in and it told me is worth about 4.5 billion dollars and makes about 4 million dollars daily.
you should check it out, pretty cool.

Google Trends disagrees with Top 5 Most Popular Hollywood Actresses

according to this Top 10 Most Popular Hollywood Actresses in 2013
the top 5 are:
  1. Angelina Jolie
  2. Kate Winslet
  3. Hilary Swank
  4. Jennifer Aniston
  5. Julia Roberts
but Google Trends disagrees with the above (see graph below)

based on Graph above in 2013, the top 5 are in this order for October 2013
  1.  Angelina Jolie
  2. Jennifer Aniston
  3. Julia Roberts
  4. Kate Winslet
  5. Hilary Swank
based on Graph above, average over time, the top 5 are in this order
  1. Angelina Jolie
  2. Jennifer Aniston
  3. Julia Roberts and Kate Winslet tie 3rd place
  4. Julia Roberts and Kate Winslet tie 3rd place
  5. Hilary Swank
in fact Google Trends disagrees so much with the above site that Hilary Swank couldn't even beat the 6th place to 9th place as the graph below shows:

Google Trends reveal surprising results about male and female.

First, I searched for "nude men", and "nude women" in Google Trends, the graph below shows that more people are interested in "nude women".

So, since more people are interested in "nude women", one would expect to see this reflect in a comparison between the terms "penis" and "vagina". However, the result is completely opposite as shown below ("penis" is more popular than "vagina").

And since more people are interested in "nude women" than "nude male", one would expect to see more people interested in "nude female" than "nude male" but as the graph below shows, the results are opposite. I wonder why that is!

Google Trends disagrees with top 5 Most Popular Hollywood Actors 2013

according to this Top 10 Most Popular Hollywood Actors 2013,
the top 5 are:
  1. Tom Cruise
  2. Will Smith
  3. Robert Pattison
  4. Brad Pitt
  5. Leonardo Dicaprio
as Google Trends would disagree with the graph below for 2013, if you hover over the graph October, 2013 shows that the top 5 are
  1. Brad Pitt and Will Smith tie at first place
  2. Brad Pitt and Will Smith tie at first place
  3. Tom Cruise
  4. Robert Pattison
  5. Leonardo Dicaprio

However, based on average over time (not just 2013) these are the top 5:
  1. Brad Pitt
  2. Robert Pattison
  3. Tom Cruise
  4. Will Smith
  5. Leonardo Dicaprio

How popular is Justin Bieber compared to Miley Cyrus?

Look at the below graph of people's searches for them two.

Look at the spike on Miley Cyrus for August 2013 (hover your mouse over graph). Apparently, twirking on MTV gets you a spike in Google Trends popularity. Google trends is so cool.

Google Trends is such a cool tool

It lets you type in keywords and see trends of the words being searched for over a period of time.
Let's, for example, find out how popular the keyword "Jesus" is searched for as compared to "Buddha" and "Allah".
The graph shows that Jesus is very popular:

Now that you know how google trends work, you might go and do all sorts of keyword research on your own. You might even include a graph like i did above too in your blog (it's a live graph from Google Trends, they have the "embed" button below the graph which you can click and copy the HTML code and paste it into your blog), very cool.

It's also interesting to note that in the above graph (if you hover your mouse over the peaks of the red graph line for Jesus), you'll notice the the peaks are around December (the birth of Jesus, Christmas)
and March/April (the death of Jesus, Good Friday).

I thought Buddha would be more popular than Jesus, I am guessing maybe because a lot of Buddhist don't have access to a computer so Jesus owns the online world.

Don't you think the average faces look more attractive than the original source faces? I think so!

How do you choose half a number?

I sure don't know how to choose half a number.  You either choose a number or you don't choose a number. How do you choose half a number? or choose one and a half number? or choose any fraction of a number?
But Google will give answers for them.  You can try typing in Google "5 choose 1.5" and it'll give you answer, even though i don't know what the answer means or how Google calculates it.
Same thing with factorials. I know what 3! means it means 3 x 2 x 1 but how do you find a factorial of a real number like 2.5! or 1.5!.  However, Google will give you answers for those factorials too.
Now if anyone can explain to me what 2.5! means or how to choose a fraction of a number I'd love to see it (please leave comment).

Jesus said

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. "

My thoughts on this: So what happens to the people who lived and died before Jesus' time?  What happens to them? Which makes me believe in reincarnations.  People who lived before Jesus' time can reincarnate into a time after Jesus and get to listen to the words of Jesus.

What are your thoughts about the people who lived and died before Jesus' time? Please leave comment!

PS: I was searching on for a "Jesus is Lord!" chant, like repetitive over and over again of that chant "Jesus is Lord!" but i couldn't find anything close to it. Someone should really make one, if you do end up making a similar video or find one similar to it, let me know!
